Oil, Gas, Lies and Corruption – Profiting from Unscrupulous Governments |

By James Winston

Winston Churchill said “truth is so precious that she should be attended by a bodyguard of lies.” When it comes to Saudi Arabia’s oil resources no truer words can reflect how Saudi’s power elite have hidden the truth about their misguided stewardship of our planet’s biggest oil deposits.
In a country where public beheadings are the norm – power, secrecy, control, and image are all important cornerstones to keep the elite royal class in the Kingdom of Saud both perversely rich and oppressively powerful over their subjects. Internationally, their status as an influential powerhouse is still apparent though light is now shining through their veil of lies which they have used to insulate the world concerning the truth of their oil resources.
As investors, the fragile nature of Saudi Arabia’s domestic problems should be enough for most people to buy “insurance” oil and gas stocks. However there’s another major problem brewing in Saudi. For nearly 60 years, Saudi Arabia’s seven largest oilfields have supplied almost all of the country’s production and is the biggest source of the global supply. Today these aging oil fields are becoming problematic despite their political stance that everything is OK in the land of Saud. Those in the oil and gas industry know otherwise.

|
Switching your job? Retiring? Congratulations! A window of opportunity opens for you with the Rollover Individual Retirement Account or Rollover IRA.
In an era of corporate restructuring and outsourcing, Rollover IRA is among the most powerful means available for securing one’s retirement. Yet, its potential to enlarge one’s assets for the sunset years commonly remains under-appreciated.
The Rollover IRA dramatically increases the range of choices available to you for investing your retirement savings. By offering investment choices hitherto unavailable in employer-sponsored plans such as 401k, 403b, or Section 457 plans, Rollover IRA provides you the means to have direct control of and more aggressively grow your nest egg.

Always quick with a quip, he gives a seasoned and reasoned insight into commodity markets. We went fishing for his outlook on 2006, and he took the bait. Our interview took place over two days - one on February 7, a correction day for all commodities, and one a week earlier.

How To Dissect Mutual Fund Returns |
|
Tuesday, January 17 2006 @ 05:32 PM EST

|
While total and compound annual returns are useful, savvy investors will look deeper, using a variety of metrics, to get a more complete picture on mutual fund performance.
On January 1, 2006, a leading financial daily reported the trailing 1-year and 5-year returns of Fidelity Contrafund (Nasdaq: FCNTX), a no-load mutual fund, as 16.23% and 6.21% respectively. While the financial daily’s return information is useful, there is more to mutual fund returns.

East Asia Under the Midday Sun |

Forecasters tend to get ahead of themselves when peering into the future. Occasionally, though, the reverse is true; the future sneaks into the present while a lens crafted for self-flattery distorts our perception. Today's consensus view of the global economy is a case in point. Our esoteric GDP figures show the Western OECD member states accounting for two thirds of the world's economy, and we feel reassured that even if China and its neighbors may own the future, at least the present is ours. Wrong. Nearly half of global industrial production is already concentrated in just three countries, Japan, Korea, and China, and the rest of the world is quickly being reduced to productive redundancy as they tighten their hold on value-added manufacturing and its technological underpinnings. The mainstream economists of the West believe their post-industrial economies can forego the supply side of the output equation while their consumption grows indefinitely on the demand side. To flatter us further, they insist East Asia must pay the difference or suffer the consequences: have their stacks of irredeemable IOUs become worthless and be left with nothing but the lion's share of the world's capital stock.

Day Trading Tips - How to pick stocks - Learn to Trade |
|
Sunday, January 01 2006 @ 11:49 PM EST
|
|
In the stock market it's not impossible to watch a stock rise up more than 20% in less than 3 minutes on a good momentum day. And even when you can see traders that make $5000 on a single trade, it is also not unusual to watch beginner day traders lose their shirts because of a series of unwise decisions.
The problem is that if you don't know what stocks to look for and how to properly approach them you could end up wasting cash instead of making your profits grow. You can't just trade stocks like if you where gambling on a casino. That's why the most important aspect of stock trading is the knowledge FILTER you employ to make your buy and sell decisions.

Understanding gold means understanding money
- pure and simple.
And that's not just because gold is money. It is the very concept of money that needs to be understood in order for the imbalances the world system is currently suffering to be alleviated.
Thank God that it is really very simple - except that some people don't want you to know that.
What we have going today under the name "world financial system" is - unfortunately for all parties concerned (except for a very few) - a case of needless and dangerous interference with the normal flow of pricing information among human beings.
In essence, we have a very small, elite group of individuals (that are not necessarily "organized" in the traditional sense of the word) interjecting themselves between the absolutely natural and healthy process of voluntary human interaction (what we call "the market") and its usual participants - you, me, and everybody else in the world.

Investment Report On Kazakhstan |

Special Report on Kazakhstan from www.gsweekly.com
Many subscribers have asked me about Kazakhstan lately, probably because three of my portfolio stocks have their main assets there. They're curious - and cautious - about the political and investment risks in the country. It's an interesting question, as the money being raised for Kazakh projects is huge right now - I can think of three mining companies alone in the last three months that have raised over US$2 billion in the UK and Canada.

Richard Reinhard Makes his pick in the Junior Uranium Market |

What's the best way to play the hot junior uranium market now? Many of the junior explorers have seen their share prices soar already. Of what's left, how many are serious uranium companies and how many are what we call "ambulance chasers" with promotion-oriented management teams who go after whatever they can raise money on?
